The ROwasher development team has been delighted to work with a cycle store based in Birmingham`s fashionable Fort Dunlop complex throughout the R&D trial period. The workshop technicians have previously used the current Rozone parts washer.

The technicians were heavily influenced by the bioremediating solvent-free cleaning aspect of the ROwasher and have been impressed with the environmental credentials of the bioremediating science. They used the parts washers daily throughout the trial and their key concerns are about the removal of bicycle oil and grease within a workshop environment. They reported that it brought the gear cassettes to a “back to new state” to present back to the customer after servicing. They were delighted to report that there were no signs of any corrosion on any parts being cleaned by either washer.

They noticed no smell from the current washer and reported that the ROwasher fluid smelled like popcorn; the fluid has not been described as smelling like popcorn by anybody else in the trials. Our R&D experts feel that popcorn is a great descriptor.

The technicians scored the current washer as Good and the ROwasher as Excellent and were delighted that there was no film on any of the parts cleaned by the ROwasher.

The team had used solvent based aerosol cleaners previously and rated the ROwasher detergent as having a better cleaning efficiency to solvents.

The Birmingham-based workshop has been key in helping us work on a variety of functional and user options with the ROwasher and has been instrumental in helping us develop the new machine to the excellent new standard. They have also helped provide feedback on the product information and the best routes of communication to technical teams in terms of PPE that should be worn whilst using a parts washer.

The keen-eyed technicians noticed that the ROwasher fluid got darker during use. The fluid will go dark in colour with use, not only as the solution absorbs the natural dyes in oil, but also because in our enhanced formulation, the surfactants are working hard to make the contaminant particles as small as they can be for our microbes to digest. Emulsification, or mixing of the oil into the solution, is vital for the parts washer`s optimal bioremediation performance.

We are committed to helping our customers reduce the use of harsh chemicals in their cleaning processes, safeguarding the health and safety of staff and customers, whilst lowering impact on the environment. We specialise in innovative technologies that benefit employees, society and the environment – at the same time delivering a reduction in operating costs and improving efficiency.

To do this effectively we work in partnership with our customers. Feedback has been invaluable and for the past three years we have been innovating our part washer offering to ensure we stay ahead of the game and provide our customers with the latest technology across all industry sectors we have expanded in to. We want to ensure that the microbes we first employed in the nineties, to digest spent motor oil and grease. work as well on cutting fluids and bike chain lubes.

The traditional product on which the partswasher sector was built, is the solvent based sink on a drum, where recycled solvent is changed on a regular basis by a service provider in exchange for a regular fee/service contract. In recent years, as environmental issues have been coming to the fore, the pressure to move away from solvents has led to the significant development of water-based cleaners.
